You may want to try some braided fishing line (Stren Superbraid, Spider-Wire, etc.). It will have no stretch like monofilament (sp) and the "wound" fibers of the braided line will actually have a better cutting or serration action between the emblem and foam backing.
1. just pull badging or moulding off by simply peeling it off. 98% of the sticky tape came off with it when I did it this way.
2. spray a little WD40 on a rag and wipe off any other tape or residue.
3. wash truck, you are done.
