My kid goes to a Private Christian School. If not there it would be home school.

No way will my kid go to the public schools of today.

My kids would go to private school if I could afford it....but I can't. I have three kids and it costs about $600 per kid per year to home school above and beyond the highway robbery the government pulls from me in school taxes for one of the worst products in this nation. Private school here runs about $300 per child per month for most schools or $1200 per year per child for a semi-public/private school in Lindsay. Gainesville has one of the worst school systems (of its size) in Texas. We got my daughter (6 yo reading at a 6th grade level) into a local public school outside of this town for free but it requires two 16 mile trips per day in a vehicle that gets a combined 14 MPG. There is no good solution.

Home schooling seems best for you for sure. I only have one kid so it isnt too bad on the tuition. If I had 3 I would be doing it your way for sure.

Private school is always an option, we in fact did that due to the school system we were in wasn't the best until we could move into one we were happy with. Even with that my wife went to work there(so we are very protective as well)pay sucked but she was there for them. She witnessed a lot of kids that had been HS and most were smart kids but some had a hard time dealing with the structure of the classroom, keeping in mind the only ones that ended up there are ones that the parents gave up. All I'm saying is there a lot of good and bad things learned in school besides the 3 R's. It's up to what we teach them at home that makes the difference in the long run.
