I ordered some headers today & thought might as well
change the exhaust too. Should i stay with 2 1/2 or
go 3in ? And what mufflers to go with it?
thanks,scott

You should do a custom exhaust. True dual right from the headers. Two highflow cats. Two sweet thunder chambered mufflers. Although im not sure what happend to the sweet thunder website. It is now a site for jewelry![]()
anyways you can still find the same ones in summit I think and various places. They look similar to a cherry bomb or glass pack i guess but they are far from it. They are the same thing as the GMMG exhaust for the F-body and Corvettes. It would sound awesome!!! I have these on my truck!

i think a true dual with 2 1/2 inch will be plenty . i would get a couple a mandrel bent pieces for the sharp turns on the drivers side. free flow cats work great but remember that the factory cats work good as well. i run carsound cats on mine. they work good. i am also running a magnaflow hd muffler. 12568 it the poart number. it has a dual inlet and outlet. it also has a true x pipe design inside that will help low end some.

I looked at that magnaflow muff today, looks like
i'll probaly get one.How does it sound? The cats
are off already, might not put any on.Stay with
2 1/2 in right,what do you think a 3 in system
would do : help it out or will it hurt?
I hate trying to make my mind up,gives me a
headach!![]()

I have always liked the mellow rumble of the magnaflows. However I would suggest putting some cats on and using 2.5". Otherwise you won't have enough backpressure with the dual system and you will actually loose power.Originally posted by gr8twhite@Nov 25 2004, 02:11 PM

Deffinately no larger then 2.5 on the dual.
if the cats are off then do the 2 12 dual out. that muff sounds kick ass.
