The gears in a 80e are much are bigger and absorb more power to turn them.
Not only that but the gearing is kind of MEH compared to the 60 IMO. Now if they made a 5 speed with the 1st gear from the 60 and the other 4 gears from the 80 that would be a monster...

Boy I disagree. A stock 60 has horrible ratios. 1-2 is a killer. An 8- just requires more rear gear because it's close ratio. A 200-4R has the best splits of the 4-speeds but an 80 is a close 2nd IMO.
