Should I get a newer truck?

Hey all , I haven't posted in a while on here . Ever since I 've gotten the fuel issue bugs worked out in my truck (with Red's help!) she's been running great thankfully and I don't have much to post . I also took up a new hobby which has taken up a lot of my time which is the sport of hang gliding . It's been my obsession for the last year and I"m grateful that my truck runs like a top because I've driven the living hell out of it commuting 7 or 8 times to Lookout Mtn near Chattanooga from New Orleans . I always average at least 19 mpg on a trip but I'm pretty sure that I'm getting 21 mpg on flat land . And this is where my quandery comes in - this truck runs just beautifully and gets great mileage but I'm just wanting something newer and which has airbags as well as a few other upgrades like power windows etc. I've been looking at 05 's and 06's and really like the Silverado SS . What kind of mileage could I expect to get with a 6.0 ? Any problems with this particular model? I'm also wondering what the power / mileage in the 5.3 is like compared with my 98 LS1 . If you guys have any input for me I'd sure appreciate it . Happy holidays , Jim

P.S. here's an interesting SS for sale on ebay with a whipple blower installed . Seems like a good deal . eBay Motors: Chevrolet : Silverado 1500 (item 250336377748 end time Dec-09-08 16:52:18 PST)=

Jim, your worried about air bags and you took up hang gliding as a sport? (jk) I grew up close to Lookout Mtn, wished I had tried it when I lived there, and also wished I could move back there but my job keeps me close to the water.

That's pretty funny ! Actually , hang gliding is statistically much safer than driving . There aren't many people up there flying and talking on cell phones. In fact , I don't think there was one fatality in 2006 but of course they do happen but rarely , So where do you live now ? If it's TX there are plenty of places to hang glide including up at Lake Conroe in the Woodlands as well as in Austin at Packsaddle. Thanks , Jim

I live on the MS Gulfcoast, it's flat for miles except for the bridges over the rivers, don't think that is a to good of a place to start.
