    Talking 5.3 Vortec?

Hey guys. Looking for a near stock replacement for my 2000 Suburban 5.3. I found this engine on craigslist, He states it's a 5.3 Vortec? Why would it not fit in a 2000? You guys are the experts. What do you think. What ques. should I ask when I call? Thanks in advance. Tom

that is a 5.7 cpi vortec not a 5.3 ls vortec motor. Its an older design than what you have so it will not work.

99 Suburbans are old body and have the old engine. You need the LS style engine.

Yep thats the old 1950's original "small block chevy" that been
around since the dawn of time.

    You need a Gen-III Vortec.
Search for a "LM7" motor. That is the model number for the 5.3L
    LR4 .... 4.8L
    LM7 .... 5.3L
    LQ4 ..... 6.0L
    LQ9 ..... 6.0L

will all swap over pretty easy for you.
