    I'm pretty sure it's the 4000 from what I remember. Tech support at Dakota will tell you the best way to go though. I'm pretty sure you can convert just about anything up to 250k so the 8000 should work also.

    talked to the guys at dakota digital, they said what the had would not work for running the computer. talked to the guy at jags that run, they had a adapt that fits the tailshaft of the late model transmission, then you use the adpt for the old style transmission(4 bolt holes), that makes both adpt the same lenght as the original adpt, then you install the JTR 40 pulse ring and the sender screws into the first adpt, now all will work, still have the mech drive from the transfer case to work the speedometer, and have the 40 pulse to operate the ECM, that was almost more work than fitting the mortor into the jeep! thanks for your help, the dakota stuff was for if your speed ometer worked from something different than 40 pulse, it can go from the 40 to what ever, but cant go from what ever to 40 pulse.
    1987 jeep wrangler, 1999 LS 1, 4l60 231j transfercase, dana 30 frontend ford 8.8 rearend 3:73 gear ratio. sandersons shortie headers, 2.25 inch exhaust into 3 inch flowmaster muffler.
