05 was the last year AWD was even an option...I have been told you could special request an AWD in 06 but i have never seen nor heard of one...

Get you a good set of DR's like M&H, a good TC and hang on to your ass.

So then I want an 06 SSS...?

Do they have a 9.5" axle then?

I was always told in GM circles that the Denalis and Escalades and SSS's had the AWD because of the rear axle....

I love this quote!! However the simple fact is that you are pulling in water from the box to the starting line. I did not have traction issues in my truck until my stall and 4.10's.. If you honestly believe you are making enough power to throw down a smoke show without one foot on the break then buy some slicks. You will not worry about traction again until you are close to 11.5 or under.

If you are having wheel hop issues that is a diff story, and I will let Quick tell you to setup your pinion angle correctly.
    Have fun!

Yeah, your truck isn't making stupid amounts of power yet, so you are just gunna have to learn how to launch it with street tires. Once you get a chance to slap some stickies on there, your traction issues should be solved...

4-link, narrowd 9", tubbed and as much slick as you can get under it. Of course this is coming from my imagination where all this can be bought for 50 bucks.
