    Wheel sensors

Well i have a bad wheels sensor and i have a good set off my dad 2500hd when he did his wheel bearings, so does anyone know if the sensors are the same between the 1500s and the 2500hds or are they different.

Doesn't look like they're the same in GM's eyes.

The difference is RPO HVY which is the 2" body raise that all the HD's have. This makes me think the difference in the part numbers is pigtail length.

The sensors are pretty easy to swap so my advice is to try it and see.

How do you know the sensors are bad themselves?

I think I have a sensor here that you can have for shipping if I can find it (doubtful) but I'm not sure what it fits.

    Nevermind....can't find it.

P/N 15225722 lists for $76.35 and seems to fit 01-03 without HVY option.

P/N 15112402 lists for $112.55 and fits 01-04 with option HVY.

My abs kicks in when my wheels are still spinning the wheel bearings are still good on both sides, so that leads me to think that sensor is bad because if the wheel bearing aren't bad the sensor gap should stay the same. so at low speeds when it went to stop the pedal would stick and then one day it would even let me push the pedal down. So i pulled the abs fuse and the problem has gone away. That leads me to think the sensor is bad.

That does have some logic and might be true although most times a sensor is bad there is also a DTC and a warning lamp.

There's a recall on this you know. They clean the plugs, and if that doesn't fix it, you get new hubs. They say it is a salt belt problem. Cleaning the connectors fixed mine.

The recall only applies to certain trucks originally sold in salted winter road States.

My abs light stay on for a few seconds when my truck was started then it would go out. My truck was purchased in new york so i will have to see if it qualifies for the recall next time i am home and have time.
