Mocked up the intake for giggles last night.
Plenty of clearance with the hood on:

Looks great! Do you think the bigger one would have fit as well?
2006 Superior Blue Trailblazer SS AWD, Stock as a rock
Sold: 2002 GMC Sportside Denali front end with a 2002 LS1, FLT level 5, Yank 2600, Trick Turbo, T76, Nelson intercooler, 60LB injectors, Warbro fuel pump, Eaton locker, Magnaflow, 3.42, Nelson Performance Tuning (speed density).
Sold: 1981 GMC LB RC 1500 2002 4.8L 4L60E 12 bolt 3.73 Richmond Lock Right AC PS Nelson Performance tuning
I think it would be very close. The other one is 1.96" taller, and I have about 2" or so (without crawling in there to really measure it). Motor twisting might make that too close.
Let me know if you want more concrete measurements, and I will turn into Plastic Man and get it perfect!

Clean up those heads and valve covers. Way to dirty to be showing off lol.
Looks good, I might be scared to race you.![]()
I built a '67 very similar to yours, put disc brakes on the front, rebuilt the back drums and put a mid-nineties Chevy 2500 brake unit on it.
Had no trouble whatsoever since the (2004 6.0 w/4L80E) engine already had a power steering pump on it. Only had to plumb in the brake unit. The pedal linkage bolted up - had to trim down the mounting flange a little and redrill to match the truck firewall mounting bolts.
The thing stops on a dime, had no issues with sliding the rears or whatever. I have never liked the looks of that massive vacuum booster on the firewall but the hydrostatic unit is relatively small.
I put an engine cover on mine and I dont think it would have fit with a vacuum booster on the firewall without a lot of trimming.
Ha...the valve covers are gone, and so is the valley pan. They will be CLEAN!!
Bill, that is a great idea, thanks for that!
