yep... iv done the swap. its a fun one!i put in an automatic but as far as the motor swap goes, the wiring is fun (go with Painless) took me 3 hrs to wire mine. You will need corvette accesories to clear the frame rails unless you like to cut things with a torch and weld in new peices. Street and performance also sells the acc. but they are expensive! any headers you use will be dangerously close to the frame rails. and you do need lt1 based headers as the heads are D port shaped. manifolds work, if not some more frame notching. i had a 383 in my 1988. i loved it til the motor failed. now im planning my 5.3 swap. the t56 has its own fun built into it with clutch bracketry and crossmember mounting and also if it will even fit into the existing hole you have in the floor. that is is it was a stick truck. if it was an auto you will need the pedal assembly from a similar manual truck. its a fun swap. not hard. but just alot of little odds and ends that need to be addressed. if you need any help just shoot me a pm
