Ls1 N2O plate on newer truck

I found out the hard way that the 2 are different. The Truck has a hole on the top left if your looking at the butterfly. That's the oil breather. Ls1 Plates will block this off, causing the vacuum to be blocked. This will cause problems. There is a hose running from the inside, close to the intake manifold, of the passenger side valve cover. It connects to the intake manifold, just before the throttle body. here is a picture.
You ll need to go to a parts store Like o'reilly's, and get an oil breather filter, and a plastic 3/8 elbow with a band clamp.
Remove the hose from both sides, off intake manifold, and the valve cover. Take a pair of scissors and cut the hose at the end to make it an L shape. Then put the plastic elbow inside the L shape you just cut. Put the breather filter on the other side of the elbow. The whole thing should look like an S kinda. Put the opposite side of the hose on the 3/8 tube coming off the valve cover and tighten the clamp. Cap off the other 3/8 barb on the intake manifold. The idea is to allow the new breather filter to come off the valve cover, go up and then twards the front of the truck. Looks good, functions well, and no need to machine the Ls1 Nitrous plate to fit. EDIT: A check valve also would be good.
Here are some pictures.... I like how it all hides under My cover now... Looks clean with cover off too.

    Nice write up Jeff!

For what its worth, you might want to run a small oil catch on that filter...Im not sure how much blow by is present in the LS motors, more specifically in a NA setup, but on other vehicles Ive owned, its been enough to crap up those breather filters pretty quick.

Here is a pic of the last setup I used one on...I was running close to 28lbs of boost (so maybe this is totally irrelivant), but its certainly something Id keep an eye on.

If Im not mistaken, The check valve will stop that. At least its not going in the intake anymore.

I had the ls1 plate on my truck, and never really had any problems with it. Just once in a while the reduced engine would come up.

The older throttle bodies were different I believe. The older ones had the
3/8ths tube on the throttle body. Mine is on the Intake manifold. Thus why it got blocked.

all you would have had to do was run the hose from the valve cover to a fitting tapped into the intake tube.

    no.
if you take a look at my picture, you'll understand

run the hose that goes from the valve cover to (in your case) a second fitting tapped into the intake tube so it can pull a vacuum.
