    78 c10 swap project

I must say, this is an awesome site. any little piece of information i have been looking for is here. I am in the process of building a 78 c-10 p/u swb. I have aquired a 5.3 engine (no idea what year or mileage). The engine now sports an edelbrock intake, a blow thru 600 holley, and as soon as i get the cheese saved up, a garrett gt35r turbo. I am now working on polishing the heads, intake, valve covers, and timing cover. (i also do polishing on the side if anyone is interested pm me). i look forward to taking in all of theknowledge that surrounds this site.

nah, no pics of the truck, camera is busted. it needs some body work and paint. stock suspension right now, but soon will have 4/6 drop. I thought about leaving it ugly and making it a sleeper

Welcome to the site! We've got a few people on here doing swaps who are leaving the old truck body the way it is and just building the suspension and motor/driveline, making it a sleeper. Those 5.3Ls with the carb can be quite powerful. Since the carbed 5.3Ls don't make a lot of low end power, you will probably need a 3000 stall or higher. What transmission are you going with?

im running a turbo 400 w transbrake, as i am swapping the cam and am going to run a small shot of nitrous off the line. I think im going to go with the ls6 cam as it has more overlap, good 4 boost

Sweet. Should be a bad arse set up. LS6 cam is good for the boost....along with the Lingenfelter GT2-3 cam. Either one love boost!
