    Cowboys Trade - Thoughts

ESPN - Cowboys acquire Williams, agree to contract extension - NFL

Dont yall think the recieve core is good enough anyway? They should have traded for a defensive back, thats the weak spot, Terrance Newman is out, Roy Williams(safety) is out, and now Adam Jones is suspended.
On a side not. The 1-2 recievers are going to be unstopable.
I just don't think this was a smart move.

I like it. He good. Too bad they couldn't trade for 4 d-backs, a starting q-back, a punter, and a running back.

I am not a Cowboys fan, but I am a fan of Roy. It will be good to see him play on a decent team though.

Jerry Jones has been after Roy for awhile now. Roy and T.O. will be unstoppable and with Witten and either back out of the backfield catching passes also, other teams can't double team anymore. I agree the secondary is weak right now.

either they need to work felix jones in the back field more often or find a better running back , i take nothing from barber but hes more of a fullback than a tailback.. as for williams at wideout, it will take alot of pressure off owens, but giving up the draft picks they did, makes one go hmmmm... now they just need a QB TO THROW TO THESE GUYS LOL, brad will do fine this week (hoping) against the rams!!! JUST GOTTA HOPE THE DEFENSE holds up on the ends and in centerfield = safety's

They gave up picks but they also should have picked a WR the last two drafts so in effect, they used future picks to get the WR they needed all along...and the one they got is NFL proven instead of a college newbie.

I agree on the Felix Jones point but he's hurt too hence my 1st post.

Roy will be a great addition, but their main concern should be the defense. Like Daniel said, they are in trouble on the defensive side of the ball. Sure, the offense is stacked to where they can put points on the scoreboard, but the defense needs to be a little stronger to prevent the other team putting points up there too...

The only pick they really gave up was their first pick, they had another 3rd and another 6th already so i say great deal to give up a first round pick for a Pro Bowl reciever. Who you gonna double team now????

Not gonna lie...not a big Cowboys fan...but I do think it was kinda a desperation move by JJ...hes got a huge big game player in T.O. as much as I dont like him personally, he is a hell of a player. They should have spent their future on someone on the other side of the ball! I mean the now starting secondary is pretty much all of the second string, or even third string, guys at the start of the season..
