    I replaced a pump on a 2000 today and tried to remove the sock in case you guys wanted to drive 43 miles one way to pick up a used part in Nocona tomorrow but I could only pop one of the two NIPPLES off the pump can. It's in my trash if you wanna drive 83 miles to pick it up.

    dont bother, we just modified the bottom cup thing and put it back in...

    BTW, there's another inlet screen on the pump inside the cup as well.

    Yeah, CAREFULLY cut out the bottom of the bucket which hold the pump--and the sock/filter. But don't cut the entire bottom out--make sure you leave enough of a cup for the pump to sit in. Also, peel back the black foam surround from the pump where the metal flange touches the pump. It needs a good touching connection. Also, make sure to put in the black o-ring!
