    Checkin in from Bama...

hey whats up. I made my first 2 posts in an interesting thread that is now closed LOL!!! Anyway, I have a 2002 z71, im still about a year and a half from being able to mod it, so right now i'm taking ideas. I had thought about a blower, but im more interested in stroking it now. It has the 5.3 in it right now, im open to getting a 6.0 block or even a motown block and going larger. I want it to be more torque than high end. I used to have a 1996 dodge 2500 with a 488 cu in v-10. The engine had tons of torque and i would like to reproduce that. My exhaust is stock, truck is totally stock, and i would like to get full length headers and a good exhaust. One that makes the truck sound like it has a v-8, right now its so amazingly quiet. So to sum up, i want a larger engine, that produces more torque. Dont know if torque management system will be a problem, or can be tuned out??? Like the idea of a larger engine, but currently get 15 miles to the gallon and would like to atleast get 12 or 13. Anyway, look forward to meeting everyone and Roll Tide!

TRq mgt can be completely removed via tuning. Nelsonperformance.com will be the best mod for your truck. Another thing to think about is the more mods you do the less reliable your truck will be. Also the more money you will loose into the truck. Buy a house before you waste a fortune on your truck. My hindsight is 20/20.
    where are you in Alabama
I am originally from there. but migrated to jawju.

trq mgt is good to know. The more mods being less reliable, is this in line with the more radical i make the engine, or just mods in general?

We own a house right now, so were ok there, but the reason I have to wait to mod the truck is because my wife is going to nursing school right now. We are a one income family right now, with two small children in day care. Those that know, day care is a killer. Its costing me a grand a month for a 7 month old and a 3 1/2 year old in mobile, ala. I imagine most places are much higher than that. Anyway, my wife finishes school may of 2010.
Sure i will get pictures, just remember it is a completely stock truck, well minus the rhino spray in bedliner. Thanks all for the welcome. Anyone that has built a stroker, i am all ears!
