    lq4 motor, 4l80e trans and most likely a 4.10 rear 14 bolt with a 10.5 ring gear. The rear may be a light duty 3/4 ton like mine, it will have a 3.73 gear and a 14 bolt with a 9.5 ring gear.

    Ramsey--like James said, the 2001 truck has the LQ4, 4L80e, and prolly has the 2WD HD frame. Since it is a 2001, GM scrapped the light duty stuff by then. The rear end is the 14 bolt, 10.5. Look in the glove box for the RPO codes for the gears and LSD option. Look for these:
    G86 = LSD (I think this is the 14 bolt LSD RPO--if not, the G80 is the LSD)
    GQ1 = Open Rear End
    GU6 = 3.42
    GT4 = 3.73
    GT5 = 4.10

    Well now someone is super defensive. This is my last rant and then I'm done. Until I see a pic or another member can verify the existence of the mythical "Ramsey Truck" I will continue to think what I think..
