No 5/speed here but I like seeing fellow 4.8s on the board...
Looks like your off to a awesome start with your truck. A nelson tune and new cam will definately improve your performance. You may even look into bigger injectors as well.

Hey protruk are you having problems at wot with being able to shift into third gear. If I could ever get into third gear I should be mid high9's in 1/8 mile. That's with stock tires and lots of spin. Kinjo do ya think its time for injectors. I didn't think it was time for injectors til you got in the motor or s/c. By the way how did you like your nelson tune can you feel a difference in the pwr?

Hey Letllered 4.8, Every once in awhile. It will grind going into 3rd. But I think that's more of a sincro problem. At the track 3rd is your money gear. You can feel it pulling hard on top end at high RPM .. These little motors don't have much torque. So to get a good 60ft. leave at the highest rpm you can. Without spinning the tires And not bogging the motor. Walk the fine line!

I think the best mods would be: Long tube headers
    good cam
    computer tune
The best tires you can find. This is what helped me the most.

PM me if you have ?'s

I've got a decent 60ft cuse of the gear but could use some better tire for sure. Think my 60 was 2 or 2.2 can't remember stopped dragstriping after the tranny started acting up.
