Got killed by VW Jetta 1.8T

This isn't what you think, I bought(eBay) a Jetta as a DD for my son drove ~450 miles to get it and picked it up. Got <20 miles and had oil pressure problems needless to say the guy doesn't want to refund anythin and was away on biz in Cali. So I had it towed back to him and left the car, now to get some of my money back and cut my losses. Of course he says it is "as is" he had 100% pos feedback and most of the 79 were cars. Any ideas???

Damn, you might be effed on that deal. "As is" IS "as is." HE cannot be held liable after you sign papers and drive off the lot (so to speak). I'd hate to say this, but you are just going to have to cut your losses and fix it. Who knows--it might just be a sensor that has gone out...

Man that sucks, too bad he wouldn't refund you the money you paid for it. Sounds like you're frigged. I'd definetly get the problem diagnosed first before you give up though, like said above it could just be a bad sensor or cluster.

Well, if it isn't a sensor, then it has to be the oil pump. They shouldn't be that hard to replace? Have you thought about taking it to a dealer and have them run some diagnostics on it?

The rest of the stroy is it is still ~450 miles away and he said he would get the sensor checked and then get it shipped. I need to get it here so I can start working on fixing it. I think I may need to go into the motor. Haven't checked to see if I can change the oil pump with out pulling it.Did a little checking on the internet and it seems the 1.8T have any issue with sludge if you don't run synthetic oil.
