Hopefully I am not out of place with this post. I do not have a Gen3 engined 98-2000 OBS truck. I have installed a Gen 3 PCM (12200411) in my 98. The 97 and down fuel gauge does not use the PCM. On the 98-2000 OBS trucks C1-9 will go to GEN3 C2-38---OBS C2-26 will go to GEN3 C1-23---OBS C3-13 will go to GEN3 C2-54. There are about 40 98-2000 OBS trucks that have installed the 12200411 PCM and ALL of their fuel gauges work. I hope this helps. There is no need to run 2 PCMs on these conversions.

Ya, but if you do that you will lose the fuel tank pressure sensor. The Evap system will not function properly without it. If you are not using the Evap stuff then it wouldn't matter.

    98 doesn't have an FTP sensor...pretty sure a 97 doesn't either.
