Heater hose connection - how do I fix this?

This is the piece going into the firewall...the hose broke off a while back.



I bought one of these fuel and A/C disconnect tools, but can't get it to slide in - not even sure if it's the right tool:

cant you just buy a new connection?

I can't get the old one off. I mean I could probably cut it...but would like to know how to get it off properly so I don't ruin anything.

I thought that there is 2 bolts inside under the dash and you unbolt it and one peice pulls off from the inside and then you pull it out from the other side.

I ended up using a cutout wheel to slowly cut a slice down the plastic, then pry it open with a screw driver and it fell off. You have to be careful not to cut the metal line underneath. You can buy the new plastic piece and reconnect it or just do like I did and hose clamp it. I figure if that thing crapped out on me once no sense buying another to let it happen down the road again

yeah use the white disconnect tool. u may have to wiggle it to to fit in then just pull the quick disconnect off

find something plastic like a bottle cap, cut it and jam it in there to pop it off?

The disconnect tools you show don't look long enough. Get a longer one, or do what Sport91 said and use a cutoff wheel, just be careful.

When you go to the dealer to get a new part, you'll be surprised to find out that if you buy the plastic connector by itself it's more expensive than buying the plastic connector with a length of hose and new hose clamps attached.
