    2005 and up Silverado hyrbids?

I am seriously considering getting rid of my 03. Even with the 4.3 and 5 speed I am making an average of 14 miles per gallon. I know they had some hybrids that are rated at 15-19 with the 5.3 and that doesn't seem bad at all.... plus i could get the extra cab for more storage/louder stereo. Do any of you guys have a hybrid? Or have you heard anything about them good or bad? I have heard nothing.

I haven't really heard anything myself...I would check reviews on Edmonds, Forbes, and JD Power.

in 04 or 05 they were either green or orange, and they didn't save you to much on fuel. just buy a 5.3, they make 18+ mpg, im making 16 with my 6.0, thats with my foot in it too, an 4:10s

Screw off. You have to be kidding me? I'm getting 16 with my little 4.8 RCSB. This is bogus.

HAHA. 4.8 AND nerf bars. LAME.

They are just as good as the regular trucks, buth they don't yield a high enough mpg savings to justify buying one. The 4.3L is a gas hog for being a V6. I am now getting 20.2 mpg combined hwy and city in my truck now that I have my tune fixed. And I have a 5.3L with 4.10s and a good amount of mods.

I wouldn't get the hybrid personally, they hybrids tend to leak coolant at the transmission bell housing, the trans uses a bigger bell housing and has coolant lines running into it to cool the equipment that produces the electricity to make it a hybrid, and the power steering pumps go out all the time, which are also ran by an electric motor.

I am getting 24mpg's out of my 04 5.3. 19mpg when I drive like an idiot. This is all hand calculated at fill up. Also, A helpful money saving tip for anyone. ONLY, fill your truck when the SUN is down. More fuel for your dollar when the SUN hasn't super heated the tanks in the ground.
