LQ9 pistons are flat top (more compression). LQ4's are dished (lower compression).

LQ4 is lower compression with a dished piston, LQ9 is higher compression with a flat top piston.

In the earlier years (2004 and earlier) the LQ4 had weaker rods, but starting in 05 the LQ4 and LQ9 got the same rods.

Block and heads are the exact same on both.

What are you wanting to swap from the other LS motors?

Dealer is gonna be your best bet for gaskets and such. Some of the LS speed shops have them too, but they all sell GM parts when they do.

Yep...you'll have to retune depending on the engine, but the actual PCM is the same.

You probably don't wanna swap any of the rotating assembly over, but heads and cam will fit depending on what you want your compression to be.
