    New Chevy Fly-Bye

Coming home from blockbuster and at the light is a guy in a late 90's camaro SS reving at me and smiling. We talk a bit and he says he's got a programmer and thats it. At the other side of traffic there is a new white chevy crew cab waiting to turn. Our light goes green and the camaro is already moving. I baby it out and about halfway thru the light about to floor it and the dickhead in truck pulls out in front of me. Camaro sees this and hits the brakes. Truck realized he ****ed up and gets on the shoulder. Camaro and I get back to go from a 40 punch and this fool is still on the shoulder giving the 3 honks??? He is ignored and promptly left behind. I lost and got a thumbs up. Camaro speeds off. I go back to the 55mph speed limit and the chevy goes bye and hits his hazards, lmao! Then turns at the same light in front of me. Us in the truck had a good laugh at that guy. I don't think that camaro was a SS but it was damned fast to be a V6. Never seen a SS camaro with single exhaust????

I think most SS Camaro's have the single exhaust.. The Z28 has dual tail pipes. The V6's have a dinky usually rusted single, while the SS has a big chrome single.

Given your times if it was a V6 you guys should have been side by side. If it was an SS he would have left you big time.

I love the hazards! at least they realize they just got stompted and attempt to say nice ride. without having to actually look at you with embarrasment in their eyes, not to mention they might have their chick with em'

Oh yeah, I got walked, no doubt. I feel better now. I was about to get pissed that I lost to a V6. Can't wait for a a programmer. Now I'm tempted to do an ram air mod on my volant but I really don't want to drill a 4" hole in my volant box and in a piece of the grille assembly. But if its worth a 10th at the track then count me in.

The 1998-1999 SS comes standard with a single 3" exhaust but you could get the optional SLP "double dual" exhaust (two tips on each side) which upped the hp from 320 to 330. I think the 2000-2002 came with dual exhaust, chrome tipped with the SLP option as well.

I don't know if I've ever seen an SS with a single pipe. Seems like most stock SS exhausts around here anyway are the duals similar to those on the WS6 (SLP?) Learn something new everyday..

Wow, I am with Fishoops--I have never seen an SS with a FACTORY single exhaust--even if it was SLP or not. They have always been dual--even on the Z28 model. Mid 95 models had a 3.8L 200 hp V6 option that carried the same V6 exhaust in a dual outlet variety. But--unless I am smoking some kind of drugs I don't know about, the SS never came from the factory or SLP with a single tip catback.
