Hey everyone. Ever since I put my billet servos in my takeoff has been sluggish and the 1-2 shift is a hard clank. Is this just a sign of low fluid? I took them out again to doublecheck and everything was put in correctly. The level on the dipstick is within tolerance, but maybe I should fill it up to the highest acceptable level on the dipstick? And once it got out of first it was fine. I heard the tranny needs more line pressure on takeoff than in other gears?? Let me know what you all think before I put the stock stuff back in. Anyone else with billet servos ever experience these symptoms?

1-2 bangs as that feed hole is too large...mine does. I received my new sep plate today ...that TransGo one. I'll get 'round to puttin it in fairly soon. F150 needs injectors badly...barely runs. Then I have to build two VB for AODs. lol

Only thing I could think of for being sluggish could be that 1-2 accumulator piston, poor line pressure, or that's all I got for now. hahaha

Didn't you get your new sep plate recently also?

Hey Hit Man....i'm stumped, pulled the servos out yesterday and they were in correctly. I'm giving the billets one more shot before I try a vette servo. Right now the transgo stuff is out and the separator plate is a stocker. If it turns out being these servos i'll put the transgo back in eventually and i'll get a transgo plate. Do the transgo plates come with stock size feed holes? Later man!

Yup the 1-2, 2-3, 3-4 feedholes are stock or a bit smaller than stock for that TG plate.

You're having what sort of problems with a stock seperator plate?

No problems with the stock separator plate....just thought the transgo one was supposed to last pretty much forever.

So what problems are you having with the stock Sep plate and the billets? I must be blind or confused. lol

The only problem i'm having is the sluggish first gear. I don't know what caused it....the transgo or the billets or something else???? I'm 100% sure it wasn't like that before I put them in. I was just thinking if I had to take the valve body out again I might get that better made transgo separator plate.

Hrm, gotcha. I'm at a loss as to what would cause the 1st gear problems you are having.

Are you certain it's not PCM related like TqMgt or something of that sort? Perhaps the valve body setup amplified the already existing problem?

Hey I got billets and no trans-go. Ok now the first time I put them in I didn't have the C-clip holding the servo cover all the way in and the cover kicked to one side and was giving me some of the symptoms you mentioned but I hardly had any reverse. Well I had reverse but it was like the emergency brake was stuck on or something. Ended up having to pull the tranny to get to the C-clip to get it out ( NOT FUN especially after a fresh rebuild and just getting the tranny in three days earlier). The only thing that I can think of is there is a spring that came with my kit that is only installed with the stock OD servo I think. If this was installed with the billet OD servo then you'll burn up the band in the trans, the band only applys in 2nd and OD, you'll know which spring I'm talking about because it's a major bitch to put on under the small washer and C-clip on the apply pin( somehow I managed to get mine on but didn't seem right so called and asked about it).Hope this helps...Zed

Hitman, torque management is gone according to Allen. The last thing I can possibly think of is maybe I got a shitty filter and it's having some flow problems??????? May sound crazy but i'm out of ideas.

Storm5.3, I think I know which spring you're talking about. It's the smaller spring for the od servo, but you don't use this spring with the 1-2 billet servo setup, correct?? Reverse is fine and the c-clip is all the way in. I checked band tolerance when I had the pan off and it was fine.
