    lq9 or ls2

    i am wanting to put a new motor in my 01 ext cab and im not sure what motor to do i was wondering if u guys could help me decided i know the ls2 has more power but does it work just fine in a truck or do u have to do any major modification

    i'd Perfer the LQ9 or the LQ4!

    the LS2 different motor mounts and knock sensor different position..

    Do the LQ4 or LQ9. They can be made to have much more power than the LS2 for about the same amount of money.

    thanx that was what i was wondering now do yall know of a good place to get a lq9 for a resonable price

    if you get that one ls2 for 3000 that jose found i would definitly do the ls2 over looking for an lq9....you already have the 5.3 so swapping things over should be easy

    yeah but i already found a lq9 for $500 more and u wont have to mess with the motor mounts or anything like that but i will try to find that moter jose was talking about

    Junkyard 5.3 milled heads 200 shot, built 4l80e with circle D 4000 multi disc converter

    I think that you have to change the reluctor wheel on an LS2 crank to work with our trucks computers.
    99RCSB Broke because I wasted thousands and thousands of dollars on my truck.

    see i thought that there was something like that that u had to do because i already knew about the motor mounts being different

    If you're paying $3000 for an engine you're not looking hard enough. A good LQ4 can be had for less than $1500, and a good LQ9 should be around $2000.
