Hey guys, anyone want to post what is exactly needed in order to swap from the wimpy 4L60E to the 80E?

I'm also thinking about this in the future and thought it may be helpful to others.

    thanks,

    Flywheel
    Crank Spacer
    Wiring harness adapters
    Fab'ing x-member
    Converter
    Tranny
    ECU reflash

That's all I can think of.

Oh yeah... also you may need a 1330 or 1350 tranny Yolk and perhaps driveshaft shortening.

What about 4wd with the autotrac transfer case? Will you need the transfer case from an 80e?

Well apparently all the newer T-cases are the same...just the lil input snub is different between the 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton trannies. As the HD ones have a larger output shaft in diameter.

So you can do one of two things...

    Purchase a 4L80E w/ AutoTrac attached (1500HD, 2500) OR

Try to find a driveline outfitting place that can sell you the lil part to allow your T-case to bolt to a 4L80E.

BTW I have the part number for the input gear to hook a 4l80E to an AutoTrac case.
