I have 305/40/22's 4.8 and 3:23's I have heard of losing gas milage then I have heard of gaining milage because of the tire size.Oh this is when switching to 4:10's. Please help I believe I'm going to switch either way but I would like to know.

Going with a set of 4.10 gears will help out a lot. City mpgs will get probably 2-3 better because your main enemy is the ECSB 4.8 with 22" rims. With 4.10s, your motor and drivetrain won't have to work as hard to get the pig rolling. Hwy mpgs will either stay the same or get slightly (1 mpg) worse. I would recommend going to 4.10s. If 4.10s seem a bit to high for your needs, you could always get a set of 3.90 Yukon gears...

Pffff. If I have the money for it I buy it. The only exception was the '02 WS6. I would have been kicked out of the house if I came home with a TA with straight pipes.

I replaced the 3.42's with 4.10's in my '99 Z28. Went from 29 MPG hwy to 24 MPG hwy, but got me into the high 11's.

3.73s seem like they would be a happy medium. That's what I want to go with when I start school this year and can get it done for free.
