    Shift kit reprogram?

Im new to the forums and I've read almost everything recent. I have seen that most of the people on here run the trans go shift kit and the vette servos. So I have made plans to purchase both this week and as of yesterday searching for a good tranny shop to throw them in. I tell my friend of my intentions and he starts to go on about how bad of a idea it is because he said i haft to send my computer off and get it reprogrammed again so i can run a shift kit. Is that true? He tends to know much more about mechanics than I do. But Im sure it would have been stated already on here if it was. Any info is a help

Your friend is right. The reason is because the transmissions is going to elevate you transmissions line pressures. If when you had a computer tune they increased your line pressures, with a shift kit added it would have now been done twice. With the shift kit you will need to have the transmission line pressures returned to the factory settings in your tune. Most will have the torque management removed as well or at least most of it. Most tuners are well aware of how to do this so you will need to have that done before installing the kit. Good luck. Vince

Yeah , trans pressure has to be returned to stock settings , that is if you had a tune done .
    Trans pressure returned to stock
Zero shift times or take below value of 3 so to remove adaptive shift learning
TM remove completely or leave 10% (just pulls timing or throttle at time of shift no other time)
Be careful with the TransGo kit when it says "firm" shifts , it means head banging shifts .
TransGo kits are great things to do to a trans , good bang for the buck value and makes the trans last longer to .
Now what is a tune again?

listen to vince and other guys on here....TURN YOUR LINE PRESSURES DOWN....and dont put the any shims in the 2nd accumulator...it will shift plenty hard without any shims...

forgot to mention the shift kit to my tuner when i install my cam and the line pressure was so high that at about 1/4 throttle it would shift so hard it would snap your neck off....

Are you talking about the HD-3? If so this is a full manual kit that requires that you shift it whenever the next gear is desired. You will also have to install a vacuum modulator.
