I have the 0968 in mine and have noticed all the same things you have. Mine definately picked up over 4k though. Mine used to really fall off over 5500 or so but now it pulls all the way to my 6100 shift point.
2000 Silverado, RCSB, 2wd w/ a few mods.
Best 1/4 ET: 12.09@111.22 (old 5.3L H/C/N2O setup)

Stock, daily driver and tow vehicle.
Truck was basically stock. No PCM work until this past Fri. Drove up to San Antone and got tune installed, she now shifts at 5800 and pulls from 3k on up! Doesn't shift out of 2nd till about 90, stock was 80.
