I used the compressor that came with the 2002 Camaro engine I bought for the swap. If your truck has the factory AC system then it uses an expansion tube that will work fine with the swap. I had to modify the engine mounts on the compressor side to make it fit and grind off a tiny bit of the frame. I don't think the truck compressor will work as well because the hoses will hit the frame. I don't think the Camaro compressor will work with the truck accessories (but I don't know that for a fact). The compressor fits very tight in the frame rails but has 1" or more clearence all around it. You will of course have to make custom hoses for the install. For motor mounts I made adapter plates that bolt the LS1 to the stock V8 mounts. http://www.ls1truck.com/jeff/template.jpg
I also had to cut a boss off the passenger side exhaust manafold and have it welded up.
Let me know when you need more help or pictures.
