If you are going to make several mods a few at a time, say LT headers and CAI then wait for other things, get yourself a Nelson Custom Tune they offer free upgrades whereas the others want to charge ya $40

Well If your not worried about price, get a 6.2l engine and a level 5 4l80e or a built 6l80e. 6.2l with direct port nitrous, or a trick turbo would make you smile ear to ear!!! If you are sticking with the 5.3 I would get a tune first. Then get headers, intake, locker and gears, 2/4 drop. THEN after that buy a cam, valve springs, pushrods, a stall and a shift kit w/ servos. Maybe even a set of rockers. maybe a nitrous kit. Once you have accumulated all those things in the second list do a weekend install, and order a retune from allen and install that after the cam and stuff is installed. IMO
Is there any brands recommended that will benifet me for further upgrades? Im looking at the volant cool air and the dynatech system or pacesetters. I see that a lot of people have the pacesetters LT's. With the pace setters how should i go about the mid pipe? do i have to get ride of the cat's? should i go ahead and do a true dual or a Y- pipe. I know with the duals i can run a X or H pipe.
If your going to get the off road y pipe, wich most do, You will also have to get the rear o2 sensors deleted '' for off road only of course. '' In the nelson tune so you dont get a SES light or Service engine light. I would go ahead and get the y pipe and just run 3'' all the way back to a muffler, then either dump it or run it out the side with some nice tips. Cheaper and I really think that it would flow better than a true cat back.
ok. how do i go about a nelson tuner? and do i have to get a tuner for everything that i do to the truck? or does it have room for changes? can i put on the CAI and LT w/o a tune or do i need that to run right after them.
Nelson Performance - Performance without Sacrificing Drivability get a mail order tune to start. then once you get headers and all that other stuff get a live tune. If you put a cam in, have him send you a mail order tune to get you by until you can get a live tune. His tunes are known to knock a full second off the 1/4 mile and add 35hp. on stock trucks. and you get free retunes so plenty of room to grow.
alright. ya i just looked at his web page and called them. they said they would have someone call me back with a answer and a price. thanks. what do you run or have in your truck?
