    new to the boards

    hi all im chris and i finaly got back into a GM as my dd i went from a 04 ext. cab 4x4 dakota with the 4.7 to a 03 yukon xl with 5.3 4x4 and i must say my yukon is much faster lol and gets alot better fuel mileage than the dakota ever did. well the bug has hit me and i knew it wouldnt be long but i plan to start modding the yukon and hopefully i can get more info here than i have over on the tahoe/yukon forums.

    03 yukon xl:intake, longtubes ory,performabuilt lvl2,circle D 278,tune, tint, lt1 fans
    92 z28: lb9 air foil vette servo magnaflow catback adjustable pan hard rod Lcas lcarbs
    86 trans am: lm7 hot cam th350 3500 stall

    Welcome to the site. Thats not just a Yukon, its a Yukon XL and it really got better mileage than your Dakota? Sweet!

    yea if im easy on it but even when im out playing i still get pbetter mileage than the dakota i was getting 11mpg i had exhaust and intake on it along with maxis bighorn 265/75/16 tires. so far with my xl im getting between 16-18 in town havent had it on the interstate yet. i am mising having a pickup since i ave two thridgen f-bodys im putting together but ive got a baby on the way and needed more room and i realy wanted to get back into a gm as a dd my dakota was a 04 with only 43k on it when i traded it but at 41k the original moror went out dodge replaced it then 6days later the rear end when out so that put a bad taste in my mouth and after having good luck with my beloved gm prducts in the past i had to come back.

    Welcome to the site! Glad to see there are still SANE people in the world. GOD Speed on the impending addition, I do not believe in luck. BTW nice ride and impressive mileage.

    yea well i went from a 98 camaro 3.8 auto y87 perf. package to my dakota. kinda a long story but i was looking for a ls1 t56 4thgen but after a few deals fell through and rom seeing how poorly the 4thgen was put together adn held up to being beat on and daily driven i decided to ditch the 4thgen idea at the time for a truck since i had been wanting/needing one since i also have two thirdgens im putting together lol. somehow i fell ino the dakota i looked at a few other trucks but no one wanted to work with me i had good credit and i made damn good money for only being 19 but i didnt have a cosigner and well the dakota did everythign i needed it to do to an extent. honestly if i had to do it over again i would have just fixed the problems with my camaro and kept it since it would have been paid for. oh well we all make mistakes
    i miss my camaro it was the best car i ever owned and it took abuse i had it 1yr and 2 months bought it with 61k on the clock and sold it with 91k and some change and was on its forth set of tires
