Hhhmmm, Ive heard this before. Your superiors are feeling you out. If you can work with these guys and not cause a stink you'll be fine. Stay laid back but still let your superiors know that you'd like to change shifts just because of personality reasons. Let me guess c shift?

Actually Im A shift. Thanx for the words guys. Just that they tell me to do stupid stuff sometimes, and I have been a firefighter for 2 years in departments twice this size and run 10 times asmany calls as they have. None of these guys have been in a house fire yet. I have been in 9!!! I have done cpr 16 times with 1 save. I have LZed 25 or so choppers. Worked countless wrecks, and even helped make meth lab busts. The 35 year old told me on my firstday that If I landed a Chopper in the road I would loose my job. Guess what? We landed 2 that day. Both right in the middle of the highway per the shift commander. He also said that If I didnt go up stairs for my hour lunch at 12pm, that I could not eat lunch that day... They either are trieng o get me in trouble, get me mad, or make me quit. But I just roll with it.... Sorry for the venting, I cant talk to these guys about it... I tried.
EDIT... My friend who is a LT. on C shift said that He wishes I could be LT. But the rules set forth by the chief was 3 years of experiance... I have only 2.

They put the bad apples on A shift? Sounds like your just the fresh meat to pick on. To them you are still just 24, experiance doesnt matter, your still new there. I feel for you and have been there.
