4L80E wiring harness

Hi guys, i am putting a 4L80E in my 2000 5.3L xcab shrt bed in place of the 4L60E. i have been told the wiring harnesses are different between the two trans'. Does anyone know what i will need to do to make this work? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

4L80E uses different trans connector, different internal comtrols, and you will have to reprogram your PCM for a 4l80e...

What do you mean by trans connector (do you mean the input and output speed sensor connectors...the round ones?) and internal controls? They have the same bolt pattern on the bellhousing, but i am not sure if the torque converter bolts to the flywheel the same. i have spoken to allen and he is going to handle the reprogramming of the pcm.

The main connector for a 4L60E will work as will the VSS output plug,you'll need to add a VSS input plug wired to a reprogrammed PCM.Contact John at Speartech,he can handle both the wiring and programming.You'll also need a crank spacer,a different flywheel and converter.

I called john at speartech and ordered an adapter harness that will make all the electrical connections work. Thanks for the info, i couldnt find anyone else who was able to help me on this.
