99 4300 to LS1 swap ???

I have a 99 silverado, newer bodystyle.4300 V6, 4l60E. Any issues that come to mind with installing a LS1. Can i reuse most of the engine harness? can the PCM be reflashed for the LS1 or do i need to swap it and the harness. I have not bought an engine yet. I figured a LS1 should pull a camper and get decent fuel mileage. Some say to just install a 5300. Any help would be great

I did the 4.3 to 5.3 in my truck and it was a piece of cake. Well it probably was easier than the LS1. As long as whatever motor you get. Make sure* you get EVERYTHINGGGG.

Do an LS1 or Lq4 or Lq9 5.3 is ok but pointless when more cubes are readily availible. Unless you get the engine cheap.

5300's are cheap around here. Looks like 2k for a complete LS1, i can get a 5300 with 5 miles for 1250. I still want a LS1. I will keep looking.
A 5300 harness will be easy to find. What about the ECU. I have access to
LS1 edit ??? Send it out ?

LS1's are too much for this budget. LQ4's are alot cheaper and 5300's are real cheap. Not sure what way to go. I am not looking to race this truck, it needs to pull a race car and camper.

You want a 6.0 Lq4 comes in 2500HD Lq9 comes in SS silverado and VHO and Excalade. 5.3 is good but the 6.0 is gonna have a lot more torque.

Went to check out a LQ4 low miles complete less harness and exhaust manifolds. 01 truck. Stupid question. the a/c compessor is on the pass lower of the engine. The 4300 is on top. Do i just change the a/c lines???
