Take it from the other lake effect-affected guy. I'm still looking outside at the remains now.
A 4wd S-10? Granted it would need some weight in the back. Any other reasons it would suck?

From what I've seen, the biggest problem is the hovercraft effect... seems like you could put the skinniest tires on them and they still get up on top of even little amounts of snow.

My bro's best friend bought a ZR2 pickup for the winter before and got rid of it by christmas.

I'm surprised that the S10 blazer's don't do the same thing, my mom has one, but it probably just goes along good because it has tiny tires on it and is always piled full to the roof with her sh*t.

i understand the whole deal about getting out of somewhere believe me im just the other way around hahah, but why not keep your truck and park it then buy a cheap s10 or yota then when you feel the need,...the need for speed start that bitch up and roll it down to the track and show em how its done and im pretty sure if you do decide to sell your not gonna lose money on that truck everyone knows whats been done to it and im sure it wouldnt last long in the classifieds.

I'm seriously struggling with it. The track up in Eagle is just outside of Boise and is actually a ¼ mile track so there's definitely a "race scene" up there. They have a lot of the times posted on the site and I would dust most of the trucks that run there. I've even thought of taking it off the road, getting a small beater, and having both. I just love the truck. The deal was I get rid of the truck, wifey gets rid of the FX, and we both downsize payment-wise. But neither one of us really wants to.

I'm not ready yet! lol The payoff is high because the engine/trans is rolled in. We'll have to keep any discussion about prices to PMs so we don't violate any site rules. But for right now, it's just something I'm battling with trying to decide what to do...

Buddy i would say do what you can to keep the truck and find you a little 4 x 4 S-10 and move up there....you keep bringing up the idea of moving there so obviously you want to go pretty bad....just drive you truck for now and stop dumping money into it save back a little and move up there

Yeah, I am with Virgil... We all know you wanna do it--so just DO IT. I would try to purchase a decent 4WD truck (S-10, Toyota, etc.) down here because those trucks are at a premium up there and go for more cash than down here... The 4WD truck doens't have to be anything spectacular--just something easy to work on that you drive up in the winter/snowy season...

1000.00 4wd yota. Keep the truck man it will nag you and bother you for the rest of your life if you let it go.
