it all depends on the wallet.. turbo is awesome but you wont gain a huge amount over the whipple unless you can upgrade your internals too.. i know i know turbo makes more hp per psi blah blah.. but it has to spool. no matter what you get there will be pros and cons. i would try setting up what you got better you might be surprised. If your gonna drop 2k on a 6.0 and 5k on a turbo id just spend the money and get a new 6.2 crate motor and be done with it just my 2 cents.. dont get me wrong though a turbo 6.0 would get you movin just lot of money too me by the time your done

Should I replace the oil pump with an upgraded 1 when I replace the cam in the LQ9. Also Do you have to drop the oil pan to change the pump.

You don't have to upgrade the pump unless it is absolutely necessary... How many miles are on the motor? And yes, you have to drop the pan. What are the new cam specs?

45k on the motor. Not sure on the cam specs have not decided. Either one of the lingenfelter cams or the one that you and Cody recommended.

Zeake, call Richard at west coast cylinder head, he has great prices on everything you will need for the cam swap and knows his stuff. He has speced out some pretty nasty motors over on pt that are running very well. Whatever he says to go with I would trust completely. I wouldnt replace the oil pump unless the motor looks dirty when you take it apart.

Yeah, his member name is Richard@WCCH. He is VERY knowledgeable. Best thing to do is to get a lot of feedback from some trusted people about your cam before going and ordering one... And with only 45k on the clock, you shouldn't have to replace the oil pump.

Since you have already purchased the motor...I think its time to seriously make a descision on wether your going turbo, blower, or N/A...just remember the pros and cons of both....freeway runs I would go turbo...stop light runs i would go blower...all round runner(and more expensive i.e heads/cammed/full bolt on 6.0) its tuff but hey its your money...

Well I have a whipple that will retain some value either way. I drive about 3 miles to work everyday. I seldom get to see any free way time and if I get some freeway time the state patrol post is really close so no high speed runs at all.
I was suppose to pick the motor up today but some government officials from the department of justice are coming to see me. I feel so privileged.
