'86 C-30 6.0 LQ-4 Swap question

I mismatched manifolds. One f-body, the other 6.0L truck manifold...

I think I'd only have to trim a little to use both 6.0 truck manifolds on that big C-30 frame...both F-body's fit nicely.

My F-body right side fits nicely into the frame...but it gets real close to the bellhousing on the 4L80E.


One more Q...where are you guys getting the flanges that bolt to the F-body manifolds, to weld your head pipes to???

Mike, you probably got this figured out by now. But if you don't, you should check at the wrecking yards. Our yards tell me that they give up the cat converters and the way they get them is to just hack up the y-pipes and pretty much just leave the flanges connected to the manifolds. So maybe you could check and see if ya'lls are the same. Good luck.

Thanks, that is what I did. Found the left side flange.

Right side I found an aftermarket flange for a truck manifold (very thick) that will work with a little die grinder magic. As I said "THICK"...very easy to weld too.

'97-'98 F-body manifolds worked great on the C-30 1-ton swap. Lots of room.

It lives...started this thing yesterday. So far am extremely leased with this swap.

OK...first off I want to thank everyone who helped with ideas. It made this a lot less painful.

I have one more question though.

I'm sure some of you guys run the factory dual tanks on these models for your swaps.

I have installed 2 EP 381's (1 in each tank), (I used a factory 1987 tank switcher valve) when I fired it up I didn't have enough pressure...about half of what it is supose to have, 32lbs.

I byassed the switcher valve and I have the full 62lbs like I should have.

My questions are...do I have a bad valve???

Or...are you guys using a different way to switch your tanks??

I've searched alot...but haven't ran across anything on this.

Maybe these valves were only made to support the lower pressure TBI system.

My valve came from NAPA PN 22198...


It had a sticker on it that said "Do not exceed 68 PSI" so I figured I should have a small margin of leway with it being that I'm at 62 PSI.

I'd like to here from anyone that's running dual tanks on this one.
