    2004 Silverado tuning question.

How many mpg's can a tune add to a stock 4.8l? im trying to convince my dad he needs a tune on his truck and was just seeing what u guys thought. i dont care about the brand of tune at this time, just estimates on mpg. when the time comes ill talk to him about brands. leaning towards nelson on this one tho.

well im hoping to convince him, and since ill prob own the truck in 3 years or less it only benefits me to go ahead and have it tuned so when i start modifying it for performance thats one less thing ill have to worry about then

Dustin, you can have a tune based upon gas mileage vs. all out power. I imagine you could see 3-4 MPG better with a mpg tune...

he saw 21.5 MPG last tank, thats great for the 4.8. my 6.0 gets about 18 MPG when i drive right. usually the 4.8 gets worse MPG than the 5.3's though i guess better than the 6.0.
