LQ9... no doubt the better of the two... power & torque... STOCK as well as mod'd.

But why not an LS1, say it will be a daily driver? It will also see very little track time. Is LQ9 that much better?

Torque curve is higher. If he's like me, I still like to tow (when I have to). Not that the LS1 wouldn't hold it's own, but always better to have more than less... especially when I can find LQ9s at or about the same price as LS1s... but it depends on the mileage and seller.
If I were to do a swap again, it'd be a 6.0L or bigger (408 sounds nice).![]()

What if he did a cam and torque converter swap to get the higher torque curve? And headers. All of this with a Nelson Tune. Is the torque curve higher on the LQ9 because of the truck intake vs. the LS1 intake? I am just asking because I am learning. Also what if you have no need to tow? Where are the LQ9's available? An LQ9 with a 4L80E would be a nice combo.![]()
