Do you plan on doing alot of mods to the truck?
If not shorty headers would be just fine, they are direct replacement, they do add some power to stockish vehicles, and they are pain free to install. I've got edelbrock ceramic shorties on my truck and they are great, however i will be changing to a long tube b/c of all the mods i've done to my engine and longtubes would compliment the mods more. IMO if your not getting into the engine there is no need for longtubes. Either way you'll be happy with adding headers. Good luck and get coated headers no matter what

and when you install headers
Its a good idea to put high heat resistant plug wires on, i went with accel 9000 and they are pretty low resistance as well
