is it me or does the roundness of these trucks make it look like a vw bug(new one). i met a guy racing one at temple one time(jeff u may have been there) and he was fast stock. i know that jim beat him running a 14.1 but jim wasnt stock. the fact that they do have major engine problems from the factory is really the main thing wrong with them along with styling. if u want quality toyota better look at one thats built pre-1998![]()
Ive seen a blue reg cab rollin arround town quite often in Cedar Park. Guy is always on the phone and never uses his blinker. It looks huge compared to My truck, and Mine is an EC too.
Kurt, they have been having cams breaking, but not in high enough numbers to issue a recall. The one thing has has been breaking on them is the rear propeller shaft in the 4WD trucks--they have had enough (at least 16,000) of them break to issue a recall. Another problem that has been reported in high enough numbers is the TC. It is been having problems disengaging, causing horrible drivetrain shudder... The Tundra has been kicked off Comsumer Reports "Recommended" list because of the several issues they are having because of the projected 'lower than average' reliability scores... But guys, I really don't care for these trucks at all...those bastards are so damn ugly, they could scare the chrome off a bumper...

My friends TuRD broke a camshaft after 7K miles. He hauls a trailer 5 days a week (about 4,000 lbs total) and broke a camshaft, a few pistons, and bent a few valves. When one breaks it takes alot of other $#it with it and now he's stuck with this $40,000 TuRD that he is afraid of, when will it happen again? He's weird, he has no desire to go fast, so I know its not because he was doggin it, besides hauling a trailer. As soon as the warranty is up he will be getting rid of it.
