    454 Ss VS. Scsb 6.0 VS '70 C-10 Project w/5.3 or 6.0

I've been looking around a bit and trying to figure out what I want to do. I have found quite a few 454SS trucks for sale in the 5-10K range. What kind of money would I be looking at to buy a SCSB truck and do a 6.0-80e swap? What kind of times do both of these trucks run in a fairly internally stock form(headers/tune/ect..)? Trying to figure out where my money will be the best spent. Any input is appreciated!!!

the 454 ss trucks are ugly on the inside in my opinion. i would by a new truck 96+ an do the 6.0 swap

new technology so you can do things like better tuning and stuff.

my friend has a 454 ss, he didn't take care of it, my v6 can take him, pretty bad if you ask me.

Do the reg cab 6.0L. I think it will be cheaper. 5000.00 for a good 6.0L ready for 500hp easy. Add n20 and an extra 125 so 625hp. Of course you will need to beef up the trans. Trust me you will like it!

Too bad this wasnt a few months ago...I sold my 1990 v/6 work truck for $2000. completely striaght body, motor only had 120,000 original miles, and nothing leaked. would have been a perfect project truck for you. I say buy a OBS single cab and drop a 6.0 in it!

there's a rcsb nbs chevy 2wd in my area for 3900 i want to get bad, but the funds just arent there. lol. im still making payments on my silvy and its in my garage with no engine right now. but my point is 4k for the truck weighing under 4k, less than 2k for a lq4 if you can put in yourself. and maybe 1k for nitrous with all the goodies. and you'll be in the 11's, for around 7k . just my .02

The 454 ss trucks are SLOW, They need huge upgrades to make run with a stock 6.0. I had one, dissapointing. Im much happier with my 4.8L 05, and cant wait to get the 6.0 put in. just my .02

i love the NBS trucks but im way in to deep in mine to sell it and start over... so she is getting a 5.3 with a t-56 the nice part is not everyone has an OBS with a GEN III so its different. i havent heard good things about the 454's and as for the statement about the interior i agree. they have the old BOXEY dash and they are totally maroon. mine was maroon to start but its all pewter now. took me days upon days to do it though...

i been talking to kenneth at land mark they had a white 2000 sbsc for 3900.00 i was about to close a cash deal for 3k but backed out still undecided on what i wanna do with the 84 sbsc.. the motor has like 220k plus miles and was a 4.8 but i wasnt looking for a motor... but not knowing what i wanna do probably passed up a damn good deal....

p.s.what i am saying is search these big time car lots and internet you'll find what you want in due time... on the other hand cash talks also...

Well here's another option, My dad is thinking about selling his '70 C-10 swb stepside. This truck has an old strait six with a 3-speed, and as far as the body goes its in great shape just needs some fresh paint. IMO this could be a perfect setup for a 5.3-6.0 transplant. Would you guys consider this as a decent project.
