Just looking to get a good list of mods I could do to my truck to get it going fast. Got the 4.8 and don't know the first thing about engine mods really.

Things I know of doing:

Adding Ceramic coated headers
Nelson Tuning
Adding an Intake
Adding a Shift Kit
Adding a Stall Converter
Adding a cam...not sure what to go with cuz I honestly couldn't tell you what a cam is
Duallling the exhaust
Granetelli Mass Air Flow Sensor
Throttle body spacer <which to me don't do a damn thing>
Supercharging
Adding a shot of NOS
and....that's all i got

BUT I NEED CHEAPER MODs ...all those things run 400+
Oh well...guess can't be to big of a cheap ass

dont mess with the mas air flow, seems ours flows just as good.
waste of money in my opinion.
also dont waste your money on the spacer thats a hundred bucks that could go to something else, unless you just got to have one if so, i have one right here i'll sell for 50 + shipping.
other than that you are heades in the right direction
you might want to add springs and pushrods to that list if your going to do a cam swap.
and yes it's not cheap to mod by no means, but as chingon stated you have to pay to play.
hell ive got mmore than 8 - 9 grand invested in mine. not all in the motor but just everything that i have changed on it so far. helll spending that much i could have alrady bought me a radix

So would you say the best thing to go for first would be a Radix? Cuz if so, I need to start saving my money Anything in particular I would need to add to my engine in preparation for the Radix?

you can do a hot water bypass and remove your mass airflow screen. radix or procharger whould be your best bet. I have procharger on mine and i love it. But ive heard really good things about the radix to.

Oh yeah, don't hesitate to give me any power ideas you have. I don't have to go through any inspections here. I live in the countryside.
How would I go about descreening and doing that hot water bypass? Are those fairly simple mods?

QUOTE: This all-new intercooled supercharger system utilizes the Magna Charger MP112 supercharger with internal bypass valve. Torque and horsepower increases are improved 63%-125% from 2,700 rpm to 5,500 rpm, giving more "power under the curve" than any other supercharger system available. This translates to 130+HP to your rear wheels!
........................hey i got this from Project R's page.........you think this would be good for my truck? I really don't want a s/c that will be too loud.

I've driven a Radix powered truck, and heard the same truck drive by at WOT. It isn't a sleeper blower at all. You can hear that thing roar!

there all loud whipples and radixs arnt as loud as a procharger at idel but when your on it there louder. theres 2 hose lines that run hot water through the throttle body on the bottom side. you remove the 2 lines and connect them with a barb fitting. Just take like a screw driver and get crazy on the screen to get it out.

Since you said you'll have to start saving for your radix anyhow, why dont you take another route. A radix with install will probably end up costing you around $6,000 and probably put you a lil bit over 400hp at the flywheel (In Truckin' mag). Instead, maybe do something like Smoke_Ur_5.0 did over at LS1Tech. He's putting down near the same numbers with only a Cam/Tune/Pulley/Cut-out/Air Intake
A radix is also gonna add alot of weight upfront which our trucks don't need.
Cam-400
Springs-100-200
Tune-400
Pulley-200
Cut-out-40
Intake-250
Around $1500 plus labor, unless you do the mods yourself. just a tad bit cheaper? A power adder would be a great mod dont get me wrong, but i just wanted to throw somethin else out there, so you dont think theres only one way to go.
