    another cam question

    okay im gonna swap heads and while im at it i am thinking of doing the cam and was wondering what a nice cam would be for my setup. i do want that nasty lope. i have LT's and ORY with a cutout. so i want ti be be sick sounding. and i have a 2500 stall so i can get away with a little extra right? but i do tow but really not to often and its not a priority. the LCA is what gives the lope right? and the duration moves your powerband higher im the rpms? if im wrong someone correct me. and any suggestions on cams are welcome

    Go with a Lingenfelter GT2-3 cam. It's right at home in the LS2. It has a 118.5 LSA--which will give you a stock sounding idle. What heads are thinking? As far as I know, the LS2 stock heads are pretty nice... The 2500 TB stall is from the I-6 version... The stock TBSS TC is fine, but you will only wanna go as high as a 2800-3000...

    gt2-3 would be a great cam and if you eventually buy a blower it will yield some greater power.

    Oh, so you are talking about the Silvy... Hmmm, not to brag, but my cam was designed specifically for a Radix: 220/220 .581/.581 114 LSA +4 degrees of advanced timing. The idle is good and not choppy at all, but you can notice the cam... It would be perfect for your truck.

    i just bought bulldog5.3's cam 228/232 .588 .595 110 lsa. i hope its not to much. he had a clip and it sounded seriously nasty which is what i want. and it was cheap too. and i have a set of ls1 heads i just picked up really cheap too, so I'm gonna do both at the same time with springs for the extra lift and hardened pushrods. but i have a question. i posted it in a separate thread but got no answers. the heads are gonna lower my compression and im gonna turn up the boost but when i turn up the boost i need more fuel right? so then i need injectors bad. im on stockers right now which is probably why my truck is slower than it should be on 8 psi.

    but i have a wideband and am not leaning out so i think the injectors may be fine until the heads and cam go on. i wish i knew what my injector duty cycle is running. i have a scanmaster but it doesnt tell idc just the pulse. maybe someone knows a way to convert pulse into duty cycle

    I would imagine those heads would raise your CR...but only by a little. You will need new injectors and a 255 lph fuel pump. Your stock injectors are probably at 100% duty cycle at 6 psi. Once you get the new cam, heads, injectors, Walbro, and tune--they thing will be retarded fast!
