Anybody Going to Memphis This Weekend?

Just wondering how many people from this forum are going to the LSX Shootout this weekend in Memphis? I know there isn't a truck class, but there are some index classes Sunday and a true street index race Saturday. I'm taking the Camaro, since I have to leave the truck home for the wife, but it would be cool to see some of you guys with fast trucks there. Looks like there are going to be some pretty fast LS vehicles there.

Looks like we will have to take the truck. Since I posted this up this morning, someone called and wants me to meet them at the bank before 4:00 today. He got approved for the loan to purchase my car. Both happy and sad. Maybe I can race the truck instead, even though I won't be close to any index, might still get into a magazine on the 30 mile cruise. We can take my truck if you want to leave one of your vehicles for my wife.

Had a great time this weekend. Would have liked to see more trucks there. But the LS vehicles dominated the NMCA's event. I didn't win anything, but got a few good runs in with my best et being 14.33 @ 93~94. My best mph was 96.0 with a 14.369. There was a couple of 12 second rcsb trucks there and another ecsb that ran a 14.1. I don't know if he comes here or not, but I was curious about his setup. Looked like a 5.3 with shorties and drag radials and probably an air intake running no filter. What else would it take to get it to 14.1?

Since you are bone stock, you could throw on a tune. That would easily put you there. And there are several other cheap mods that you could do to keep it looking and sounding stock, if that is what you are looking for...

I had to update that sig. It isn't quite bonestock anymore. I have done the TB bypass and have a homemade cold air tube to the stock box, but that is the only true free mods I have done. I don't know of anymore truly "free" mods. I was really wondering what else he could have done to get that 5.3 to a 14.1. I should have had just as good as an exhaust as he did. He had an aftermarket muffler and cat, but he did have headers(shorties). Will headers, an intake tube, no filter, and drag radials get that 5.3 to a 14.1? His et was .2 faster, but his mph was 2mph slower than me.
