The new pickups are not based on the same frame as the trail blazer. The reason GM didnt put a v8 in the canyon is that it WONT fit. The engine bay is so narrow they could not get a v8 in there. Im sure it could be done...an LS1 swap but the whoel front of the truck whould have to be re-configured. I hear there is talk of a turbo I-5 in th enear future for the new trucks.
