    ideas for a 4.8L

So i've been fighting with the idea of going faster, of course I've thought about motor swaps, transmission upgrades, power adders, and everything else under the sun. But i can't make my mind up so i'm looking for a little bit of advice from you kind folks. I've decided to stick with my 4.8L Its only got 96,XXX miles on it runs better now than did when i first bought the truck 7yrs ago. The other thing is my trucks got a 5spd in it and I want to keep it that way, well at least upgrade to a t56. I'm on my 2nd trans and who nows how long it will last. I drive my truck everyday so i'm not trying to make a race truck out of it i just want it to be fast sorry for being so long winded but work is slow tonight so i got to stay awake some how.

Help a fellow speed junkie out with ideas on this

I would get your heads worked, Cam, Centerforce clutch, Longtube headers, gears and a tune.... You can do all this and still be daily drivable..... I'm thinking about getting my heads done for my next mod

Thanks for all the info. Would a 220 112lsa be to much for a DD. the next thing on my parts list is gonna be a clutch mine is about toast, but thats more along the line's of preventative maintenance than a power adder. I seem to be doing alot of that lately This week so far I've had to replace all my headlight connectors Apperantly they can't hold the higher voltage of those blue bulbs. I also made myself a 80.00 paper weight out my throttle body spacer

I think my next go fast part will be a posi unit but think i might keep my 3.42's till I can go for a t56 and then swap them out for 3.73's so i can still have a good highway gear

    220 on a 112* you'll be fine..definantly go with a good stall and consider 4:10's ..@ 70mph im running around 2200 rpm......

Keith--he has a 5 speed currently. He can't use a stall... Maybe a Centerforce II--Not too little, not too much...
And a 220 112 LSA would be fine for you. It will perform well and sound incredible!

I listened to a few sound clips of cams with those specs, damn that rocks!!!!!! I know I will need a tune from Allen to get it all to run right, would there be any benefit in HP/TRQ over my hand held programmer right now???

Yeah. It's a night/day difference over a Hypercrap. Unlock the Hypertech and sell it on Ebay. Use the earnings to help pay for the Nelson tune...
