if and when youd dyno your 4.3 silverafdo, youll find the torque peak
at the wheels is a moderate 180-200rw torque @ 2900-3000rpm.

id think about a 2500rpm with a 2.5-2.7STR. the stall would allow the
engine to build power before pushing it through the transmission. the
STR would multiply the torque output on acceleration. i would recommend
a transgo shift kit (converters make the shiftting softer), programming to
rid the TM, and a heavy duty cooler. yes it can be a lil pricey, but it
beats internal engine upgrades and keeps drivability close to stock.
